Matthew Stanton
represents clients in state and federal court in a wide range cases. He is a certified mediator and an attorney in the Nineteenth Judicial Disctrict of Illinois, and serves as Guardian Ad Litem (child advocate) by judicial appointment. He is currently a member of the faculty at Chicago-Kent College of Law, and a frequent commentator; having made guest appearances on numerous local and national network radio and television programs.
Once it became apparent he would not become a professional baseball player, Mr. Stanton supported himself in a variety of employments, including stints as a cement mason; signpainter; stevedore; circus performer; public school teacher; clinical counselor; and a media analyst. He studied law while raising a large family as a single parent, something he considers among his greatest achievements.
Mr. Stanton has served as an executive board member for various civic groups and 501c(3) organizations, including disabled sports; media education; and poverty relief programs.
